Months before the October journey, Jason and family went on a scouting mission to plan out the route that he and his support team would later take. This trip served as setting the stage for what we become a record-breaking adventure and one of Jason's greatest accomplishments in life.

On June 26, 2014, the TXFR team and supporters rallied at Sewell Cadillac of Houston off the Katy Freeway to kickoff the campaign. That evening, a diverse and passionate group of Houstonians gathered to help the grassroots efforts of TXFR. Sewell Cadillac opened their doors of their luxurious showroom to host the event and with a lineup of moving speakers including Kristian Rose (Love146), Captain Charles Dunn (HPD), Katelynn Arcemont (Jason's daughter) and Jason himself, the audience had every angle needed to truly understand the terrors that exist in our own backyard. It was a collective evening of motivation, excitement and laughter.

On September 9, 2014, Love146 invited the TXFR team to join them at one of their task force's annual events at St. Arnold's Brewery. At "Hope is Brewing", our team had the chance to meet with such a diverse group of men and women who genuinely cared about the problem but were looking for ways to give back and join in the fight against child exploitation. This event gave TXFR major advancements in awareness and fundraising. Special thanks to Kylie Abegg and her planning of this event. It was great exposure for TXFR and really got our campaign's purpose to the forefront of many brewery patrons.

Through the partnership between Texas Freedom Run and Beth Younger Purpich with JulieBeth Handbags along with Americas - River Oaks, a great night of celebrating and fundraising took place on September 22, 2014. In the inner loop of Houston, guests gathered at Americas - River Oaks for drinks and lite bites to see the unveiling of JulieBeth Handbags' latest bag, the Longhorn. The campaign received great traction from the profit sharing of JulieBeth Handbags' sales that night along with a very successful raffle lineup. The donated items included, but were not limited to, a David Peck shopping spree, Brooks running shoes, Riazul tequila, an Action Time watch, etc. Credit to Roswitha Vogler for the photography from this night (http://www.photosbyrovo.com).

On October 20th, TXFR celebrated a two-thirds victory at LUX Lounge in Downtown Austin. Special Thanks to the Franceschini family for opening their doors to the cause and donating 25% of the night's sales! During this night guests and even stray Austin citizens found themselves inside LUX Lounge supporting TXFR by way of a few drinks and listening to Jason's two-thirds perspective on this record-breaking feat. From an Android tablet giveaway to friendly bar service, guests enjoyed the night and we pushed one step closer in gaining momentum through the last third of the run!
